Mission Statement

The Aalen Mobility Perception & Exploration Lab (AMPEL) is operated by the Competence Center Vision Research at the Innovation Center on the Campus of the University of Applied Science, Aalen/FRG. The lab is aiming at the visual and auditory/vestibular sensory system and related functional disorders as well as to the development and validation of specific diagnostic and therapeutic methods. Major topics are

to develop and improve therapeutic and rehabilitative instruments, methods and procedures for patients suffering from visual and/or auditory/vesitibular disorders,
to evaluate visual and auditory requirements concerning acitivities of daily living and quality of life,
to develop strategies to compensate sensoric deficits and
to guide attention to relevant objects.

Research, education and care are equally considered in this regard.
